Streamlining Distribution for the Emergency Food Bank
As stewards of positive change, the WMB team relishes opportunities to collaborate with community organizations.
WMB proudly partners with the Emergency Food Bank, Stockton / San Joaquin, the largest direct emergency food provider in San Joaquin County. The organization’s mission is “to build a stronger community by providing a safety net of healthy food, nutrition, and hope to residents of San Joaquin County who find themselves in need.” In 2022, the organization served 1.2 million people and distributed over five million pounds of food and over one million pounds of fresh produce.
WMB designed the current administration building, which is home to their nutrition center, including a full test kitchen, for education and cooking lessons. To enhance this much-needed community service, the Emergency Food Bank acquired an adjacent property to the south to build a 17,000 SF warehouse and create a more controlled distribution center. With food currently warehoused off-site, the new warehouse will centralize and streamline the food distribution process.
“Our collaboration with WMB Architects is creating a foundation of hope, growth, and safety for our community. The new warehouse and office space will offer not just a place for food distribution but a safe, welcoming environment where our clients and staff can thrive. From unloading docks to expanded services, this project will foster fresh beginnings for all.“
